Is this still the land of the free, where free speech and the ability to peacefully disagree are American rights? It is; they are; OK, just checking. I wasn’t so sure in light of events lately. For example, Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, the well-known evangelist, was invited by the Pentagon to lead a prayer service there on the National Day of Prayer on May 6. The invitation was taken back because of his past “controversial” comments about Islam. He described Islam as evil and said last year he found it to be “a very violent religion.” Blowing innocent people up, beheadings, so-called honor killings, all in the name of Allah and Islam – I can see why he might draw that conclusion. Because of his views on Islam, the Pentagon punked-out. Officials didn’t want to offend people who already hate us. I guess it’s OK if radical Muslims just hate us as long as they don’t hate hate us.
